Joe Marine is serving his first term as Mayor after being elected in 2005. Marine was a City Councilmember from January 1998 until January 2001 when he was appointed to the Washington State House of Representatives 21st Legislative District.

Marine is a self-employed insurance agent, specializing in Medicare and the long term care needs of senior citizens.  He is an active member of the Mukilteo/South Everett Rotary, Mukilteo Chamber of Commerce, the Mukilteo YMCA and has been elected as the 2008 President of the Snohomish County Association of Cities & Towns.
