Joe Marine is serving his second term as Mayor, having first been elected in 2005. Previously he served on the City Council from January 1998 until January 2001 when he was appointed to the Washington State House of Representatives 21st Legislative District.

Joe is a self-employed insurance agent, specializing in Medicare and the long term care needs of senior citizens.  He is an active member of the Mukilteo/South Everett Rotary, Mukilteo Chamber of Commerce, the Mukilteo YMCA and has been elected as the 2008 President of the Snohomish County Association of Cities & Towns.
