Citizen's Police Academy
The Mukilteo Police Department periodically conducts a Citizen's Police Academy. This eight week Citizen's Academy allows attendees to interact with Police Officers while they learn about the day-to-day operations of the Mukilteo Police Department. Classes meet for three hours one night per week, and are provided at no charge to attendees.
The typical Citizen’s Academy curriculum includes instruction on: Introduction to the Mukilteo Police Department The work of the Patrol Officer, Firearms The work of the Traffic Unit Detective Division/Crime Scene Forensics & Technology Law & Criminal Procedures/Use of Force & Officer Safety Animal Control/Drugs & Alcohol/Crime Prevention/Chaplain Canine Demonstrations Ride Along with a Patrol Officer Graduation and Reception
Attendee's generally need to be either a resident or an owner or manager of a business enterprise within the city limits or the current urban growth area.
